The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau sparred Thursday with a coalition
of trade groups over recusal standards in their Fifth Circuit lawsuit
challenging the agency's new $8 credit card late fee rule, arguing that a
judge's ownership of stock in a major card-issuing bank ought to be
disqualifying in itself.
