To SIENA REB, OGF GIN, EDGI and DEGISCO :
iSGTW just published the executive summary of 'Campus Bridging: Software
& Software Service Issues Workshop Report' at
http://www.isgtw.org/feature/research-report-campus-bridging
The workshop focused on two goals:
- Finding common elements of software stacks widely usable across the
nation/world, in order to promote interoperability/economy of scale; and
- Suggested policy documents that any research university should have
in place.
The full report is available at http://hdl.handle.net/2022/13070
The first recommendation is that 'NSF must lead the establishment of a
coordinated, national cyberinfrastructure support system to provide user
support and expert guidance for using cyberinfrastructure [for science].
This system should be constructed in concert with and with contributions
from campuses, regional providers, and CI projects.'
Therefore, I think that this report is of high importance for :
- European Roadmap on Grid and Cloud Standards,
- Grid Interoperation Now,
- EDGI and DEGISCO.
Best regards.
