as mentioned i had incredible opportunity recently to attend conference

one of the new things is identifying vehicles using wireless tpms sensors

i think the work may have trickled up to enforcement and corporate workerd
via uc berkelely students unsure, to fight slavery, funded by consumer data
gathering venture capital

all vehicles made in recent decades using the cheaper “indirect” tire
pressure measurement systems constantly broadcast a tire pressure signal
unique to the vehicle. occasionally the vin is retrievable but not usually,
rather useful data is found via cross-correlation

the sensor is small, raspberry-pi-like. they are being deployed with
scrubbed PII all over.

sorry i don’t have links atm. but the emissions content seemed pretty cool
to me.
