i guess in machine learning they use probabilities and log
probabilities in their vectors

one could imagine this representing a proportional number of events observed.
so if you observe an enemy in a spot in a field three times, you could
put a three for that enemy in a vector
then if somebody else observes them two times, they could put a two
and adding the vectors would instantly combine the observations
