 I'd say, instead, that Assange helped Hitlery Clinton LOSE the 2016 election.    Whether or not Assange actually swung the election from Hitlery to Trump is an excellent question.   But Assange definitely publicized news that the biased MSM didn't want to cover.  For this reason, I think Trump should have pardoned Assange.  Note that Biden HASN'T yet pardoned Assange.   (or Snowden, etc.)
